Oh god fuck yes.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Radiotrophic_fungus
Radiotrophic fungi are fungi which appear to use the pigment melanin to convert gamma radiation into chemical energy for growth. This proposed mechanism may be similar to anabolic pathways for the synthesis of reduced organic carbon (e.g., carbohydrates) in phototrophic organisms, which capture photons from visible light with pigments such as chlorophyll whose energy is then used in photolysis of water to generate usable chemical energy (as ATP) in photophosphorylation of photosynthesis. However, whether melanin-containing fungi employ a similar multi-step pathway as photosynthesis, or some chemosynthesis pathways, is unknown.
These were first discovered in 2007 as black molds growing inside and around the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant. Research at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine showed that three melanin-containing fungi, Cladosporium sphaerospermum, Wangiella dermatitidis, and Cryptococcus neoformans, increased in biomass and accumulated acetate faster in an environment in which the radiation level was 500 times higher than in the normal environment. Exposure of C. neoformans cells to these radiation levels rapidly (within 20–40 minutes of exposure) altered the chemical properties of its melanin and increased melanin-mediated rates of electron transfer (measured as reduction of ferricyanide by NADH) 3 to 4-fold compared with unexposed cells. Similar effects on melanin electron-transport capability were observed by the authors after exposure to non-ionizing radiation, suggesting that melanotic fungi might also be able to use light or heat radiation for growth.
However, melanization may come at some metabolic cost to the fungal cells: in the absence of radiation, some non-melanized fungi (that had been mutated in the melanin pathway) grew faster than their melanized counterparts. Limited uptake of nutrients due to the melanin molecules in the fungal cell wall or toxic intermediates formed in melanin biosynthesis have been suggested to contribute to this phenomenon. It is consistent with the observation that despite being capable of producing melanin, many fungi do not synthesize melanin constitutively (i.e., all the time), but often only in response to external stimuli or at different stages of their development. The exact biochemical processes in the suggested melanin-based synthesis of organic compounds or other metabolites for fungal growth, including the chemical intermediates (such as native electron donor and acceptor molecules) in the fungal cell and the location and chemical products of this process, are unknown.
Oh hello guys.

Well fuck me sideways.
First of all i forgot to post the pictures of that bottle, they aren't very clear but they show you basicly what the entire bottle is like.

Kind of neat. I keep forgetting that i actually have this bottle, and these pictures are old by now. So i wonder what it now looks like? Might check tomorrow. As for my residence in the land of fungi, my stay doesn't seem to be over; Rot is still following me everywhere. (Nurgle incarnate?).
For example, i just opened up my trash can, emptied a few days ago just to find this:

(Shitty cellphone camera)
And no, those are not my cigarettes but... Look at that white haze of fungi that had grown in a few days. And below it and on the sides there was even more. Mostly white. And no, i just cleared the trashcan sorry, not going to keep this.
Still creeped the fuck out of me.

It is almost 4:00 AM here, i am tired as hell: Time to write more "days after".
Got a few questions about how my health went after getting rid of Shoggoth... So:
I recovered from feeling like shit within a week or two, and I haven't been sick ever since. There were a few little side effects besides that that remained after all this though:
- I had grown used to HORRIBLE smells, so, basicly, you can puke infront of my face and i would barely notice the smell.
- Some standard medicin like painkillers and sleeping pills don't seem to affect me anymore. I have no idea if stronger medicin will, but it probally will.
- When i go outside i still get all itchy.
- My lungs have grown stronger, and i can easily tolerate people smoking (for example) next to me now, unlike earlier in my life.
- Haven't passed out/had black outs ever since.
And, but probally not something related to the whole hell goo project; I've become some sort of an imsomniac, but worse. A sleep anorexic? I don't know.
I've had trouble falling to sleep for as long as i can remember, but it has grown worse and worse for the last few months. So naturally after the doctor called me a chronic imsomnic, i got sleeping pills.
Didn't work. Had to try other sleeping pills; Didn't work either.
So i started skipping nights every once in a while. After a while, i started skipping more nights.
I now sleep 3-4 days a week. And it's already 04:04 AM here now again: Wake up early, stay up very late. There are people out there who sleep more in one or two days than i do in a week.
My body doesn't seem to be affected by the lack of sleep, i haven't grown insane (yet?) and i seem to perform better in things like school and stuff now for an odd reason. But maybe i'm just not able to see any damage that my sleeping rhytm is causing to me right now.
The black lines below my eyes are growing lovely thick though: I've been called junk and burglar a few times now, and emo's all around the globe instantly grow jealous.
So yeah, i'll have to figure something out about that. But it's time to sleep now, and when i wake up i'm going to make a cup of coffee for the first time. Caramel coffee.
So delicious!
Speaking of delicious, It's raining like some sort of hurricane katrina out here, so i still haven't checked that bottle. Getting on the roof is kind of difficult and, even worse; Wet as fuck.

Suddenly, out of fucking nowhere;
A while ago, I came back home from a 3 day long festival. I smelled like beer, urine, sex with scandinavian chicks, mud and fastfood. And sweat. Mission succesful. But...
On the way back i noticed i still had an opened bottle of soft drink (i dont even recall what it was, probally cola or something like that) in my bag. And white fuzzy hairs floated on the liquid, with some pink spots in it and ofcourse the trademark brown spots.
People around me (in the train) obviously did the usual "yuck, throw that away" bullshit, but i didn't care. For some reason it was as if that bottle was screaming DADDY? to me.
I did not throw the bottle away.
I cut it open put some stuff in like flour, milk, and the usual fruit. I left it on my roof for a while, and it was like 35 degrees celcius (that's, err, i think 96 Fahrenheit or something?) outside on an average basis.
After forgetting about it for a while i realised it was still on my roof. Beautiful pink spots had grown everywhere, and all the normal contents had turned white. Except for a brown residue on the bottom. Dejá vu?
I still have this on my roof, but the raining days have started so i don't know when i will check it again.
It also reminded me, obviously, of this place. As you might recall i dumped Shoggoth in the park to the south of me. Sadly after a few weeks it had dissapeared, after eating away some plant life first. Dead fish had started popping up in the river, though probally coincidence and the coin that was in there? The coin was gone. Some kid might have picked it up and put it in it's mouth, heh, awsome.
And there were awfully lots of dead flies/musquitos around there.
I still have C'thun's bottle at my sink and the sink is still a bit clogged thanks to all the shit that went in. Worth it.
So yeah i just felt like sharing this stuff, especially since i've been growing bored again of lately. goodnight!

Day 166: And finally... (Part 3) The End.

Shoggoth is now in a better place. The nutrient filled park. Here it can grow without me destroying it's layer all the time. Weather is going to be shitty, but he'll handle it.
It's near some trees and a shrub, out of range from playing children but nearby critter wildlife and plants. i almost completely burrowed the pot but it's still open. I had to climb a fence (do you know how hard that is with Shoggoth in one hand?) to get to that spot but i didn't want random children or dogs finding it seeing what it was starting to to do with me.
Shitty part: My camera's SD card is suddenly blank. As in, empty. It's like Shoggoth erased everything and basicly saying "the world will never know." (Unless i visit it again, which i probally will one time) But for now, it's time to grow that shit natural.
Why is the place behind a fence? Ground water is absorbed at this location.
But anyway. 201 posts, a hundreds of comments, suggestions, facebook comments, questions, emails page visits and doctor visits it's time to say goodbye. What started out as a joke on an imageboard thread turned into this weird project that we've been doing for almost half a year. And this is the most cliché thing to say but i wouldn't have done it without you guys. Thanks alot for the support and interest!
~Hell Goo, Thijs, Pestilence, Etc. You know the drill. <3
Day 166: Part two.
Go to google.
?????
PLAY PACMAN
Went to the garden to check Eden for the last time to, shit has become a zergling hive.

So i'm not dumping this into nature, no, looks like i have passed my final judgement; Exterminatus. Time to grab some bleach and my camera, brb.
Except i had neither bleach or acids available, so i temporary filled it with spiritus and salty water. which is a shitty combination but i guess i'll have to get bleach and crap tomorrow.

Picture related. It should at least kill the maggots and it made some fly or spider go spastic and die really fast. Burn the heretic maggots, burn!
Also, that apple man, that apple.

Anyway i should go out with Shoggoth to the park when it's darker outside. Wish me luck.
I just realised that this is the 200th post.

Day 166: The end is nigh. Part one.
Well that was it folks, goodbye! ...
As you might expect i'm not going to suddenly dissapear after almost half a year of starting out making rotting hell out of food, spawning little spiked maggots, fungi arena fights, biohazard and hundreds of doctor visits; I will be doing final, multiple updates all over the day. Starting off with the usual Shoggoth update like we usually do.

As you can see, Shoggoth still looks the same. So...
First i decided to pull out the "electric wire" with shaky hands and film it. Over exposure? who gives a fuck.
Having pulled that out, Shoggoth looks really dehydrated so i'll add some water (see it as a death row meal) after this.

And it smells so baaaaad. But no liquid to be found either. You are staring into the deep layers of Shoggoth, where things like this spawn;

This looks so... Yes. Just wonderfull.
I'll be adding some water now to prepare Shoggoth for the rest of the day;
I won't be bleaching Shoggoth, i won't burn him either;
To the south of my house there is a park, where all kind of plants and animals are growing happily and children are playing all day long. Basicly, nutrients and bacteria everywhere, including botulin toxin in some parts of the soil thanks to rotting duck corpses. Oh and there's water pipes that go to my city and a village nearby running down there.
Shoggoth will leave the nest and start flying his own path.
So much for part one.

Just wanted to post this:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science_and_environment/10132762.stm
Someone beat me to it! Curse you scientists!
"These could be used in the future to make the most powerful bioweapons imaginable. The challenge is to eat the fruit without the worm."

165: .
Had to move Shoggoth back under the sink thanks to the really strong smell coming back. It's like Shoggoth farted really, really hard. At first i tried to endure it but it nearly made me puke.
Still feel a bit like shit, but i'm recovering.
I haven't checked both pots for obvious reasons. 5 Months of exposing myself to rotting organic matter seems to finally take effect on me. So much for superhuman resistance.
I have no future plans for all of my "children" left. (No, no mice.) I really don't know what to write either. Fuck it, i guess this is coming to an end.
This has to be the shortest update ever.

164: No bleach till Brooklyn.
Turns out that "failed experiment" is basicly a white Shoggoth now.

And yes. It looks this blurry in real life to. Though it could just be my eyes, but whatever. It's a solid chunk of fungi and goo floating on a semi-clear liquid. Deja vu much?
It's kind of odd though, i thought i threw this bottle away? Oh well.
The pink spots look kind of pretty and i have no idea what the yellow blob is.

In the meanwhile, in the black sludge lands of Shoggoth, white fungi is also assaulting the upper layer it seems, supported by the standard issue of brown goo. The fuzzy patch of brown has become goo to.
I shouldn't be suprised by the fact that nothing is changing; I haven't fed them in weeks. I should. Something like one of those Deathrow final meals if shit hits the fan.
Maybe. I don't have the supplies right now though unless you want another boring load of oranges, sugar and bread.
Ofcourse, starvation is also a possibility.

Day 163: Soldiers of a ruined paradise.
The headache seem to have cleared up (tiredness, breathing and vision is still there though.), so i've been thinking...
First off i was considering that my eyes are just getting worse because, i don't know lack of vitamins or being an IT student and staring into a screen all day, but if i remember correctly that would mean i would either be seeing blurry in the distance or up close, and it's pretty much both.
I should do an eye test.
Second; I could throw Shoggoth into Eden.
Either that or find a catapult to launch them into a farmer's field and see what happens, or something in those lines.
I dared to check Eden and the huge brown sludge turned into a blackish solid crusty sludge, which is a bit like what Shoggoth is right now.
I didn't check Shoggoth but i'm pretty sure that little patch of brown hasn't grown so big that it isn't a pile of black sludge eating on white hairy fungi anymore.
Come to think of it i'll go take a picture of Eden;

Damnit. Eden still looks awfully neat.
This probally how Hell looks in the circle of Gluttony, aw man.
In some sick and twisted way it actually looks pretty. I mean look at the consistant texture all over the place and those weird craters. It's also like the sludge actually moved around a little bit.

I can't burn this. Why did i avoid meat at the start of this project again and eggs? Oh right, the never appearing maggots.
There is this gore picture of a man who has been cooked in a bathtub for two weeks straight after having a heart attack floating around the internet and my harddrive, and some amongst you might remember it; the remains had exactly the same colors as this sludge minus the green fungi.

The colors around the apple are different though, and the apple? If it was a mouse or something i'd feel really sorry for it right now. That apple alone is probally worth an entire ecosystem right now.
And that is what Eden might be, a tiny ecosystem in a white plastic bucket.
Never mind about throwing Shoggoth inside of here, Paradise will not be reclaimed.
Nope, I have no idea what to do with the pots either. Or the entire blog.

Day 161 and 162: Meh
No i haven't died yet, i just forgot to update yesterday... or well, i fell asleep.
The tiredness is becoming stressfull, the blood tests we're not that worrying (it was only a tiny amount thicker than usual), i think i'm starting to get a fever but worst of all;
My vision is becoming blurry.
Either i'm going to need glasses or i'm just fucked.
And it isn't really worth it anymore either, i checked Shoggoth and Eden and well, Shoggoth only grew a tiny brown furry part (KILL IT WITH FIRE) and Eden is just a brown sludge that attracts alot of flies now. Yet they are kind of fucking me over with (pretty much confirmed by mr. doctor) spores in my lungs and stuff.
I'm having a deja vu right here but i might call it quits, i don't know. But i kind of stopped caring and i like having regular vision and health.

Day 160: Pestilence
I decided to go the doctor once more, after waking up with a strange feeling again and knowing that i've had Eden open right into my face yesterday.
We did the usual.
Heartbeat was a bit off, blood results are not in yet, my reflexes are slower, and i'm starting to get headaches again. And ofcourse the usual "i'm tired as hell".
Normally i do not think the tiredness and headaches are anything special, but combined with the rest...
Especially the reflexes are slower part is starting to worry him, so i guess that will be waiting for the blood test.
We we're about to say goodbye, but he got a bright idea and grabbed one of those "blow into this device please." for drunk people on the road. Here is where it starts to get odd;
There was a low amount of alcohol in my breath, and i don't drink. (could be device malfunction, hell who knows.) And even better; I had a hard time blowing hard enough to get that thing to beep. Why does a doctor have police gear? I don't know.
I'm dying here!
Well actually, i don't know what the hell is going on but it feels bad. This has been going for a while but i finally bothered to go mr. doctor. This isn't really motivating.

Day 159: Apocalypse.
Paradise has fallen. I can no longer call Eden paradise for what i just have experienced;

Paradise is gone. Rotten into a red, brown and black mass of hell, Ye who enter, abandon all hope. It amuses me that there is still green fungi growing in that swamp of rotting mess.
Really, i wouldn't know how to classify it other than mess, it's not fungi but it's not goo either. What has science done!?
The larva seem to be gone though. I think they died. Just like all the bugs. This makes Eden stronger than Shoggoth.
Remember that failed experiment? Turns out i still had that in the garden:

Bad picture, but hell, that looks kind of neat.
Shoggoth isn't really developing now, except for some odd thing growing;

Yellow? It looks like slime mold. A little bit. You can't see it under the black sludge though, and it's at the place where the white fungi made their last stand. The top hasn't changed much except that the last light reflecting fungi is growing black outlines, thus ruining their beauty a bit.

Day 158: Skipping.
Duke nukem came in, shot me up in a trillion pieces, stitched me back into one piece again and said "Eat shit and die". And thus i will have to skip today's update, sorry.

Day 157: Age get.
Shoggoth is now older than Kweeksel.
Which makes this the most succesful thing i have managed to make in years. Kind of sad isn't it? Worth it.

This just looks so pretty.
The battery ran out, and i'm wondering if Shoggoth doesn't need to be fed something sooner or later. No signs of dehydration or anything though.
It also looks like that ring that was stuck on the walls, floating above the surface has finally dropped off into the rest of the pot.

Some milk to help that white fungi or let some yellow/brown fungi grow again might help, maybe some of those plant hormones to.
And i'm really starting to wonder what that black thing really is, because as we can see in the white fungi absorbing the color, it's growing all over the place on the inside and looks so odd on the surface. Like some bubble covered volcanic rock or something. I don't know.

I tried taking another picture of the other side's wire, but my camera knew better than me and focused on the fungi below instead;
That white fungi on the north side of the picture looks kind of rugid, and that Crevice down there? Someone grab a miniature rope and micro-hazmatsuit-man to investigate that place.
And if you look really closely to the bottom left side you see... Charlie's legs?

Day 156: Aftermath.
The white knights are making their final stand. It will not be long until The black sludge is done fusing all the white fungi warriors into their horribly mutated ranks. And thus kind of ends the arena fight.
You have all fought well.
This has to be toughest slice of bread that i've ever seen, by now a normal piece of bread out of Shoggoth would be all covered in white, delicious fuzzy fungi. And i can explain why.
When i pushed in this little amount of bread, Shoggoth was filled with rain water, it absorbed most of the Fungi ridden water, so basicly this bread is filled with a sewer. Which isn't really nutrient.
I might push it down into The deep layers.
On this picture you can also see the sludge climbing on the electric wire, as well as some of the bread sticking on it showing how big the bread originally was.
Moving on...
That mess in the middle? It's starting look like a damn planet's atmosphere or something. On this picture that is. Being surrounded by the original black sludge spots, it seems to be the fastest re-coloring part of the pot. at the black piece on the bottom of the picture kind of reminds me of waves hitting the coast.
The black sludge really likes negative charged electricity to, it seems.
And that red spot with the bug skeleton in the middle? Sweet.
All in all, it was a good day.

Day 155: Assimilation
Shoggoth;

Ladies and gentlemen, it is starting to become quite obvious which side is becoming the winners. The black sludge went "fuck it" and started killing every white soldier from the inside out, to then turn them into one of themselves. "one of us... one of us... one of us...."
To make it even more obvious, here's the place without flash:

The black sludge's victory was not in vain, (Even though fungi can be very unpredictable) for they have won the first price; I will scoop out some of the black stuff and put it into paradise! Which, has been developping quite nicely in these days.
Eden;

This looks really, really neat, and for some reason it almost looks like there is a face in it man.

And in paradise, fungi does not wage war in arena pits about colors, no, instead they work together with a string based feeding system. It's like downloading food for free, legally. Yes.
Oh and those tiny white things in the middle? Anyone know what they are? They seem to move around so they are probally maggots of some sort, which is classified as HERESY.
..Yes i'm really, really tired, i need to get to bed.

Day 154: THE FIGHT GOES ON!
As the battle continues, more and more fungi is growing more desperate with the minute, and taking more desperate actions!
The black sludge has started to grow a colony in the brown/tan area, camouflaged well! and has some tricks up their sleeves...
The white light is victim of those tricks. First they expanded their base of operations and grew like crazy everywhere, but Black Sludge infiltrants have started to kill them from within... turning them in the totally not unexpected Gray. They seem to counter attack this though, some of the black sludge is starting to become gray to.
The growth of the white soldier army has taken it's effects, the bread cliff is becoming moldy and even smaller, almost all the tan/brown is gone and Shoggoth has shrinked in size. And as you can see in the south area, the liquid elite of the black sludge army is starting to climb up on the negative charged steel wire.
(I replaced the battery by the way)
The fight has become more intense, now that both sides have had equally developed to kill eachother, who will win?!
On a side note i moved Shoggoth because the people around me started complaining, it's something minor but i keep it at the old place of Kweeksel now.
And yes i'm late.

Day 153: PIT FIGHT!
Parents are home again from rome, and i forgot to move Shoggoth out of that room. It made me worry a little when i thought of it, but all they did is turn off the lamp. pfft.

It's black VS white ladies and gentlemen, and no, not PEOPLE.
Our arena is a semi-internet famous plastic measurement cup, filled with rotting hell and everything that comes with it, And what is this dark stain on the electrified steel wire? Well people, i don't know either! (Yes, i know, electrolysis.) But it is of vital importance in our arena!
and our pit fighters of the day;
The black sludge like fungi is in the minority, and the black sludge seems to "melt" thanks to the heating lamp (at the bottom of the picture) which looks kind of neat.
The texture of the sludge also looks kind of freaky, and i haven't seen something like this in either Kweeksel or Shoggoth before.
The white "light" fungi however is starting to look like crap from under a microscope, it grows fast, it looks sweet, and well most important of all; It's fuzzy-fungi.
And it seems that it can also absorb other colored stuff, near the piece of bread. (the half brown half white fungi)
Yesterday we already laid down the first trap, The rift, but it seems that both our competitors don't really care about traps and are starting to grow over it. The black sludge has the majority in the area of "the rift", but a tiny amount of White light soldiers are making their final stand at the edges of the "the rift."
Our electricity traps running on a 9V battery are temporary disabled until we have a new power source though. Should be tomorrow.
And no, the brown 'white light' fungi pit fighters do not count as a seperate team yet, their color just changed a bit thanks to the melting bread.
WHO WILL BE THE GLORIOUS WINNER OF THIS ARENA FIGHT? LETS FIND OUT. LET THE GAMES, BEGIN!

Day 152: Rip and tear
The grand canyon of dehydration is making it's comeback, and i'm not going to throw in something wet right now so expect it to grow. I will from now on refer to it as "the rift."
In one of the last comments someone asked if i could take a picture without flash, but due the lighting of that room it looked exactly the same. The white fuzzy fungi also absorbs ligth from outside and from the lamp, so they we're just a little bit less white and more tan colored.
The battery will be empty in a few hours, and i won't have a replacement until tomorrow so meh. And I just noticed that there is another opening near the tan fungi, with a small liquid pool in it. So much for dehydration.
It seems that instead of getting covered in the black fungi, the light reflecting fungi is today's biggest population instead. And that piece of bread still hasn't begun to mold yet, instead it's still melting down into this dark brown goo.
The black sludge in the middle seems to be covered with bubble like balls, and i'd nearly want to poke it just to see if it starts moving and spews acid into my face or something, because it's something i haven't seen before yet.

Day 151: Shocking.
Well now that 50% of that shitstorm is over, i finally went into the garden to check up my second lovechild Eden.

Salami and crap too salty? No u!
Now this looks like a delicious pile of shit, you can barely recognize the second piece of meat, and that apple won't be an apple for any longer either.
And the white puss coming out of that little tomato? jesus christ. It's growing mushroom shaped.
One thing that i specially love about this is that nearly every color that Shoggoth has been is present in this mess right now. And ofcourse, the fact that it's growing like i want it to grow, and not becoming a pot of slime.
Speaking of not becoming a pot of slime;

"I need lightning to make my man of mold aliiiiive!"
The first thing that really caught my attention was ofcourse the colour change to grimdark gray, and how on camera most of it catches/reflects the light of the flash. The tan colored part also looks kind of sweet, though it will be overgrown with gray fungi in a small matter of time.
But, inspecting the picture a bit more...
White bits of fungi are growing on the upper steel wire (The + charged part.) but not on the other side. This is probally due to the location difference, but it still looks a bit odd.
It could be just coincidence, but i don't see why fungi would need to grow on electrified steel. (And yes, i checked if the battery still had some charge. I'll need to replace it in ~2 days)
The smell has also become well... the bad smell is gone again. Tomorrow i won't be home alone anymore, but i'm going to try to keep it at this spot, it's perfect; Electric socket for the lamp, window for fresh air and bad smell removal next to it, and the room heating conviently placed directly below Shoggoth.

Day 149: God bless Thomas Edison.
Did i ever tell you how much i love lamps?
Just look at this man, light reflecting fungi and these strange chainmail/worm like formations everywhere, adding to that the fact there are still gas bubbles coming out, and well, wasn't this a puddle of rainwater yesterday?
Oh shit that gas bubble leak is staring at you.
Funny how those rings/strings of fungi are almost everywhere, but for some reason they do change colors all over the place. And that bread is kind of.. melting. Just like that white pill that i threw in a week ago; Speaking of which, thats the bright thing next to the bubble "eye".
The strange bug corpse in the upper right corner seems to be becoming Charlie 2.
I don't know if electricity helps, or the temperature (probally the second though if i'd be able to think in common sense.) But you got to admit, the results are sweet so far.
...Which made me check the batteries, and according to the charging device there's still power left in the battery just less than yesterday. So electric circuit: succesful.
I did check Eden, but there wasn't much to write about so i'll leave that alone for today.
EDIT 1:
See that stuff between the fungi and bread, near the electrified steel wire? What the hell? Is it a bubble or..?

Day 148: Welcome home, you dirty bastard.
I woke up, looked outside;
Storm.
Shit.
Went into the garden and one of the worst things that could happen happened; The lid of Shoggoth was thrown of by the wind. Shoggoth's container was almost fully filled with rain water. And from experience with Kweeksel and that failed bottle i can tell that a large amount of liquid is very bad for growth, so i had to dump most of it... Which probally includes a million bacteria or something.

Though you can still recognize the old "landmarks", it still looks... ruined. But he'll recover. And see that in the bottom left corner? That looks like slime out of a horror movie man. I added some bread after taking tis picture which will soak up a bit of the fluids.
So basicly it's a deja vu moment;
Shoggoth gets damaged by outside weather -> Shoggoth goes back home.

At first i kept him at this place, i mean, it's where the Shoggies and such started to appear, but i decided to go back further, to where it all started;

It's like the begin all over again.
I hope the lamp will help a bit with temperature, and otherwise i'm going to get that heating device again, got to pump up that electric bill!
Wait you know what? Now that it's already damaged by weather hazard, let's add another hazardous element.

1.21 Gigawatts is now running through Shoggoth. (Well, a standard 9V battery that is) I doubt it will do anything, but screw it, experimentation time fuck yes.
And yes, Eden was safe from most of the rain, only a little amount came in which will only help the growth instead. So Eden didn't have much new stuff to talk about. And i still haven't refilled the bottle or my new tiny glass jar.

Day 147: Sigh.
It rained a bit into Eden, but the mold growth is still growing nontheless. The salami even started to become more dry instead of getting wet.
The white puss hasn;t grown much yet and is probally slowly eating the tomato from within, while the meat and egg gets covered in Kweeksel like gray fungi.
The growth on the apple makes no sense at all, it doesn't grow on the juicy, soft parts but on the hard to digest parts instead.
Shoggoth was unharmed by the rain. That bottle was filled so i dumped the contents into the garden, meh, experiment failed.
Shoggoth still looked the same. This is becoming very boring.
I mean, i want to write daily, but if nothing happens like the last i dont know how long, well what am i going to write about?
Results:

And really, I myself grow bored of this to.
If nothing keeps happening it starts to feel a bit like a chore. I want Shoggoth to out-live Kweeksel but meh. 9 days to go and Shoggoth will be just as old as Kweeksel was, and then i guess i'll have to wonder what to do next.

Day 146: Being late is for winners!
Update is late because i was at my dad's place, i barely see him so yes that counts as an excuse. So pictures we're taken in the dark...
First i checked Eden, because hey, i'm waiting for little maggots to creep into that hellhole we once called paradise;

Growing and letting it chill seems to work good, and my fingers smell like fucking shit now to from just opening that place. I noticed there are alot less fruit flies attracted to Eden though.
Probally because i don't keep the lid very open like i did before.
You got to love the white puss coming out of that tomato though, and the fact that mold is growing on pretty much everything including Charcoal.
Adding to that, there's black sludge. And the last time we had black sludge, the shoggies appeared ;)
I will be home alone from monday to friday so in those days, Shoggoth and the other pot are going inside, But Eden will stay outside (don't want to attract little shitting bugs all over the place) and well, it is the "garden" of Eden so that makes another excuse.
Shoggoth just seemed to grow better when he was inside though.

I should make more pictures during the night! (and still update on time that is...) because man, sorry to say this but in my opinion this picture just looks goddamn great.
And that little green snail turd makes it even better.
I checked that "new guy" bottle to, but he STILL didn't grow yet. If this is still the case tomorrow, i'm calling it a failure. Too much fluids: No mold.
I'll have to do something different with the bottle instead, i'll probally put in pieces of Shoggoth and see how it grows differently when i put it inside or in a cold location somewhere, maybe add the creatine that i'm getting on monday and such. "My own clone, now neither of us will be virgins!"
Speaking of putting things inside, according to my mother she found mold below the old sink but removed it. I call lies, but it would still be funny.

Day 145: Oh wait, i'm late again.
That bottle that i added 3 days ago still hasn't started growing mold, but i think there are too much fluids in it slowing the growth. A smart little spider had spun a web on the opening, catching a dozen of fruit flies and such.
Eden and Shoggoth looked kind of the same as yesterday, and i found an unlucky snail crawling on the lid of Shoggoth, i decided to throw the poor bugger in.
He melted as if Shoggoth was concentrated salt, felt good man.
I've decided to remove the bread from the lid because all it did is becoming really hard and dry, not my intention.
So yeah, not much development today, and i know exactly why, because it has been raining and cold in the night, and during daytime it wasn't really warm either.
In 11 days Shoggoth will be just as old as Kweeksel was when i dumped him, so i'm considering taking him inside again for a while soon.

Day 144: A way too weird end of the month.
Yes i deleted the previous day 144 entry because it was too much bitching, (in short, i'm having alot of troubles right now)
When i checked the pots in the morning, nothing had changed, and combined with bullshit about taxes, people thinking that i'm some sort of special needs child and trying to get me on special education and that kind of shit, that really got me down. The previous entry was bitching about crap like this, i even wrote a part about how Shoggoth has gone from hazardous bioweapon to a boring compost heap,
but curiousity got the better of me and i checked the pots again;
Both Shoggoth and Eden had changed, and they grew exactly the way that i wanted it to grow to, in just... what is it, 8 hours time?!

Shoggoth is finally becoming FUNGI again instead of slime, and it's your basic gray and white to. This_pleases_korean_monkey_child.jpg. And those little pieces of white pill and dog feed? They are melting. I'm not going to ruin the upper layer this time to or add too much food, i'm just going to let it grow into hairs again, that shit looked awsome back then. (The "mold art")
I really should test the Ph grades man.
And the best part is that this gray fungi grew in a matter of like 8 hours time. Probally has to do with the sweet warm weather or something, it was like a summer day here today :3.
Shoggoth was rage-soothing once more (see? those antidepressant spices clinging on spores? Yes!) and at first i went back inside, thinking there was no way that Eden had grown that much in 8 hours time to, because Eden's meat hadn't even started rotting or anything yet...
Boy was i wrong.

Fuzzy fungi had grown all over the place, even on the salami that hadn't even started to rot when i checked it 8 hours before,

And here to it started to rot. And see that little tomato? Those white dots are holes i poked in it with a fork yesterday, which is now probally fungi hell. The next time i throw in one of these, i'm slicing them in four pieces: Eden seems to love tomato juice.
Which is no suprise, because tomato juice was one of the first ingredients.
I threw in another egg into Eden, and that is the last thing that i'm adding for a while, same goes for Shoggoth except i haven't added anything to Shoggoth today.
I'm just going to let it grow in the nice warm weather man, no need for cultivation lamps or anything, all naaaatuuurraaaaallll baby!
And now for the part that you all hate including me; Ads.
Tomorrow i'll have my first payment. Sadly it's a dutch holiday tomorrow, Queens day.
Everyone makes little market stalls and rugs in cities, people drink and smoke alot, everyone has alot of fun, etc. But stores are closed so i won't be able to go shopping yet. (Well, maybe there are some weed grower stalls or something?)
I even got a little extra, and i'm thinking of taking the ads down due to some shit with taxes and their efficiency going down to zero.

but curiousity got the better of me and i checked the pots again;

Day 143: Warm Wensday.
Because seriously, it's getting way too warm out there for me, but the temperature is good for growing mold.
As for the growing mold part, Shoggoth is becoming a compost heap, and is dark brown again instead of the really bright color.

Really standard and shit. and the black thing on the right side is a dead snail by the way. Or well, the shell remains. Shoggoth is one big pot of slime, and i've decided that i want a little more fuzzy fungi growing instead. So i pushed bread into the lid which will hang over Shoggoth like a nutrient ceilling.

Like that.
In a bored mood i also tried this;

To which i won't really add anything, i just want to see it become all fuzzy.
Eden's meat hell hasn't started to digest yet, but that will take some time i guess.
And at last, i noticed something funny.

The plants in the tray at the upper part of this picture had liquid layer of Shoggoth injected into the soil, and the lower one has not. Coincidence?
