Day 139: Dehydration.

Screw the other theories about shrinking cream and crevices; it's just dehydration. (zzzzz)

And not only the top is doing it, Shoggoth in general is doing it. (Thanks, sun!) I wanted to take more pictures but my battery ran out.

So anyway to prevent Shoggoth turning into a barren wasteland of dried out fungi, i'll need to add more liquid to all the layers. Thank god i still have that syringe.

So i went out and grabbed some ingedients to add more liquid to Shoggoth (first i try to dehydrate him and now i do this? yep...) and i found some more chemical stuff used for the aquarium, it was promising at first, it increased the Ph and Kh grade in liquids, (speaking of which, i still have to test the Ph Grade.) but it was also disinfecting so i dismissed it. Instead i decided to go back all to the beginning a bit and add something extra;

Yep. Squeezed out orange juice again. Well actually it is also mixed with the usual Sugar, and a little amount of that fruity milk. If i would add bread it would be Shoggoth in baby form. The syringe is filled with the aquarium fertizilizer combined with... gravy. I have no idea why i inserted gravy, but i did.

First i poked a hole with a stick, injected the syringe's contents into the hole, filled the hole up by moving solid cream on it and then...

Instant color change!
And now to wait till Shoggoth has started to suck up the crap. And yes the syringe cocktail already started leaking out, oh well. I shaked the container a bit to.

And now to Eden; Eden is boring to write about of lately, the only real change of the day;

So i was thinking, what if i would feed Eden again, but instead of just "feeding" him i basicly throw in enough food to build an entire new layer above the old one, like a two story building.
"Yo dawg i heard you like mold so..." Because right now, Eden is pretty and all, but the aquarium fertilizer brown spots haven't even dissapeared yet, he's slower than Cthun.

Goddamnit my fingers smell ALOT like fungi now, the next thing you know i'll be climbing upwards somewhere. Brb shower.

Day 138: And in today's episode of fungi news...

"BREAKING NEWS: A LIVE REPORT WITH THIJS BOERMA. "FUNGI EARTHQUAKES CAUSING CREVICES IN SOLID CREAM SURFACE. MORE AT 11, ONLY ON FUNGI NEWS!"

The crevices are growing. or well, the cream is splitting apart even more and more. It's like there's earthquakes going on in there man, though it's probally due to either one of these things:

The cream has become solid;
1. Shoggoth is leaking gas?
2. Cream being eaten away and thus shrinking in size?
3. Movement?
4. Insects, though i doubt that they would dig like that, but still, possible?
Which is your pick?

i was thinking of adding a little of the usual orange juice again, but i realised how useless that would be, even though Shoggoth's entire body was based on oranges. So in a scavenging mood i found a bottle of this instead;

I know Shoggoth and Eden aren't exactly freshwater aquariums, but the "many vital nutrients" part sold me. I need to stop 'borrowing' things of the people who live in the same house as i do. I threw in a little into both Eden and Shoggoth, and i will throw more doses into Shoggoth the coming next days, Eden is an one timer though;

Those brown stains (picture was taken 4 hours after throwing the nutrients in) are kind of ruining Eden's beauty right now, and Eden is mostly dry while Shoggoth is, well, a pot full of all eating slime.
Which is why i decided to only give more doses to Shoggoth in the coming few days and not to Eden. Let's hope my children are enjoying the meal.
Eden is a really slow eater though, that apple looks like it was only put there yesterday.

Anyway, time to get prepared for party time, have a nice weekend guys!

Day 137: Breathe the pressure

New record of unique visitors in a single day and it is only 5:47 PM.
Turns out someone linked me on reddit; Hello reddit people!

But anyway, let's move on.

The colors are becoming darker again, and brown/yellow liquid is forming on top of the cream. The pink spot has become more visible to, though it could be another color to.
And black stuff that suddenly is op laying on top, but that's probally just soil.

But what really got my attention; When i opened Shoggoth the cream moved like it sighed. You want proof of this? look at the grand canyon forming in the cream.

Close;

And where are those holes coming from anyway, that's slightly more creepy.

I wonder if gas is escaping from those crevices/holes (Would Shoggoth-Gas be toxic?) or that Shoggoth really is actually breathing through that hardened layer of rotting cream. It wouldn't suprise me.
Well, there is one way to find that out;

Bubbles on the upper side.
It seems that putting Shoggoth outside has turned the liquid body from light brown to... this mess. And i'm actually kind of pleased with that.
I have no idea what that white thing is, though it might be cream. Maybe Shoggoth is pulling the cream down into liquid hell to eat it, yeeeeesss....
Well, if only that was true. I still have no idea what it is though.

I checked Eden again to, but there wasn't really much to be seen. I know i wanted Eden to be a slow growing pot but;
Any suggestions on what to throw in in Eden? It needs to be small though.

Day 136: And scream, for the cream.

Because yesterday, i forgot to tell you that i added a little amount of cream to Shoggoth. Which was the best thing i have actually done all week, showing these DELICIOUS, SLOW, RESULTS;

Slow you ask? Yes, because it hasn't turned into liquid hell yet, but damn, it looks good man, like a mold-milkshake. Someone get on making that, fungi taste milkshakes.
I mean i know enough people who would try that, me being the first.
Wait a minute...

Besides the fact that solid brown lump looks nasty as shit, do you notice anything out of the ordinary? Except my bad grammar? Spoilers:

PINK!

If there is a loving god out of there, please let this be the pink bacteria from day... what is it, 75? again, because damn that would be good. Meningitis here i come! And for the brown lump being covered in mold barnacles, i have no idea what it is.
The transparant thing next to it used to be a pill capsule though.

This is delicious.jpg

It's like cupcake glaze, but instead it's being eaten away by rotting death and it is covered in craters which could have been air holes.

And as i said before, i only threw in a little amount of cream, but this isn't "little" anymore, for some reason it kind of grew.

And in other fungal news;

Eden is becoming more green/blue right there. And can you count the amount of dead flies?
And most leaves and stuff like that are now getting covered in fungi or are already brown and rotting away, pretty neat.

Day 135: Garbage Day (Part 2)

Figured i started updating as soon as i came home, and i noticed lots of insects swarming around Shoggoth and Eden. Mostly at Eden. Eden is turning a bit into an insect graveyard right now, and it's also looking pretty. I took a few pictures.

The insect here got stuck.

A bit of a letdown; My camera isn't actually capable of photographing this piece of Eden correctly.

Bread being eten away and this tiny black leaf. The thumbnails look really strange by the way.

And finally; the corner, which for some reason is a crust, like earlier months Shoggoth instead of a fuzz. The liquid layer of Shoggoth is probally rotting in here.

And yes the sun was shining, which is why the colors look so "warm". And i picked up Shoggoth after throwing a tiny black beetle in, and well, it looks...

...Just plain nasty. It isn't fungi, it's just SLIME and solid chunks of god-knows-what.
Here's another picture without the sunlight in the way;

Now including strange purple shade. Oh and that black thing in the middle on the left? That's the plastic pill. Being what looks like being dissolved, and mold growing over the capsule. It's like pill is dissolving in your body, but in very-very slowmotion.

No chicken bone, i think my dog stole the last one.

Day 135: Boredom

Minor update, regular update coming later today.

Two days ago i threw in "Saint's jan's spice." I didn't know what the hell it was, so i did some research when i was bored. Turns out the english name is St John's wort.

Supposedly it works anti depressant (which explains why my mother has them i guess) and it works against sleeplessness. Ironicly, side effects also include; dizzyness, tiredness, imsomnia, headache, restlessness, skin change and intenstine and stomach problems. And it can kills smalls animals...
...In large doses ofcourse.

So it's time to open up alot of capsules and dump them into Shoggoth.
At least the spores won't be depressing.

Day 134: Oops

Came home late, so well, i don't really have any idea what is going on in there today. But a day's rest is good for the pots i guess. Sorry i have had a bit of a busy days of lately

I want to test how Shoggoth acts on bone soon, so expect a test soon. Someone also asked me "are you still going to electrify Shoggoth?"
And well, do i still need to electrify him? (It's 3 or 9 volt running through a steel wire)

The weird itch/tiredness/stomachecrap in fresh air is getting worse to. Some people say that it is hay fever, which could be. but i'll probally be going to the doctor tomorrow, also to extract some of my blood again for in Eden. Speaking of which i wonder how the apple is doing.
And yes, it's really too dark outside to check it properly.

And ofcourse, the pill-cocktail in Shoggoth. I doubt it changed much, and especially not much to get "change". If i want "change" the best way to do this is to adjust temperatures, like we saw in the cold winter shed days.

Putting Shoggoth outside actually HAS had a drastic change on the looks and 'body structure' though, i mean instead of hairy gray fungi floating on top of liquid hell it is now one big pot full of SLIME and curious (mostly dead) insects. Shoggoth has finally found a way to feed himself.

So note to self; Get bone, go to doctor, receive own blood in vial, ask about fresh air bullshit, start updating on time again, and maybe go do some shopping, see if i can dig something up like growth hormones.

Anyway, i'll try to update properly tomorrow again, again, sorry.

Day 133: I love the smell of fungi in the morning.

And the smell of pizza. Because in the time that i've managed to do my update, i've baked a pizza, aawwww yeah. But anyway, here's an early update because i've been at a party yesterday.

The first thing i was about to do today was making a cocktail for Eden, but i ended up throwing it into Shoggoth instead.

These are the ingredients.

2x Calcium
2x Iron
1x "Saint Jan's spice" (the black tube)
1x Something garlic that smelled like shit (the green ball)
2x Fish oil.

First i added water, rainwater that is.
The saint's jan spice was in a plastic tube, so i opened it up and spread the contents. Why would you eat plastic pills? goddamn. I stabbed open the fish oil and garlic with a needle and squished them so that the contents spread all over the cocktail.
My fingers smell like crap now.

The calcium and iron dissolved into water after stirring it a bit.
So i went to the garden again.

Eden looks.... Beautiful. The growth is soft, it's spreading equally over all the food, and it isn't sludge but actually fungi. It's like fungi paradise right now. But you know what the garden of Eden is missing?

But ofcourse. My snake hasn't shed any new skin yet though.
I opened up Shoggoth and it still looked the damn same as usual. I was dissapointed once more. I want some change, because hell, my amount of readers is dropping by 10-15 per day these days.

I ruined the upper layer again and now it looks like a pile of shit. Literally.

Procceeding with that, i added the cocktail,

However, i have no idea if fish oil and garlic will be good for growth. In matter of fact, i doubt it, but it's a risk im willing to take for some change. I'm also going to get my blood extracted again for both Shoggoth and Eden soon, and ofcourse the usual boring health tests while i know that my immune system is made out of solid steel these days.

Except that i'm still itchy, tired and my stomache starts acting weird when i go outside/open up a window that is.
