Day 118 Part 2: Multi post update.

New camera is credit to team!
The flash is a little bit too bright for Shoggoth's currently white top, but it actually works out pretty sweet. So i guess this is another picture update just to show off some better quality pictures.

I even had the luck of finding something special.










So far, it just looks like a regular picture. Except that it's way brighter than usual and doesn't look so green and liquid. Hey wait a minute, is that a Shoggie? Lucky shot right there. The flash is a bit too bright for the white fungi, but i can't complain.











Holy shit, this has to be the best quality picture posted so far. And look, the Shoggie eating from... Wait, is that... CHARLIE!? HOLY SHIT. LOOK AT THAT.
His corpse is all molten and crap, except for some legs, it's like a mutation from games like dead space jesus christ. Took another picture just incase:
EDIT: Yes, its that brown thing next to the Shoggie, that nasty pile of molten mutating spider corpse.










One of the legs is covered in Fungi, while stil dripping with some foul kind of ooze. And i just noticed that the shoggie has SPIKES ON HIS BACK. Those are not legs, they are SPIKES. (or barbs.) I am a proud father now. ;_;


How do i know they are not legs?
1. The Shoggie moved around and looked upwards (to the light, presumably... Or to me.) and the spikes/barbs stayed on his back.
2. They are on the back and not on the bottom.
3. Holy fucking shit they are spikes, on bugs, RIP AND TEAR

This is becoming more and more like a bad horror flick movie and i love it so much.

Day 118 Part 1: Multi Update.

Late update thanks to easter shit. First update (This) is non Shoggoth and more general stuff that nobody really cares about and the second will be Shoggoth.

Just got a perfect container, but not for Grimer because i need Grimer to be completely airtight, so instead i could use it to either use it for a new home for Shoggoth or another new brother called Eden.

It's a lettuce drying thing, like these but red;












They are almost completely airtight but still can get enough oxygen in there, and you could spin/shake around the insides a bit. Pretty neat!

And if i would use this for Eden (You can call it John Henry Eden if you want to to.) I still wound't have any idea how i would make Eden and what will make him special, but i think i can think of something. Maybe finally get some old smoke detector element in there and stuff.

The google ad money is sadly becoming less, probally due to the same IP's so i guess i will have to start making threads again. 174 euro's is still way more than i needed and expected though, so thanks alot for the support guys! I promised at least creatine, and a glass container for Grimer, so when the money arrives... Oh. And i'll get a gas mask if i'm going "professional" like this anyway.

And i probally already said this, but i have the entire shed and some parts of the garden for my disposal as a place to do all this crap now, so i'm moving everything to the shed soon for safety.


Now to visit Shoggoth for the second part of the update, brb.

Day 117: Positive Shrinking

Early update because my lame aprils fools joke made me go lazy yesterday. If Something changes or i'm about to change anything or find anything, i'll update again later.

As what i can already say now;
* Shoggoth is becoming white all over again.
* I might put him outside/in the shed again due to the weather.
* Shoggoth is shrinking.
* There still weird orange pieces floating around in the liquid layer.

Taken with flash it actually looks green, shows most of the details and you can still see the black sludge properly.

It isn't the same white stuff as from a week ago, so the cocktail helped.


The quality is horrible, don't enlarge it. Without flash you can see the general "shape" of the mold, and less detail, so i'd thought i'd show post it to.
I doubt the bugs will come outside until i throw something in now.


So in the last few days after adding that cocktail of brown shit, Shoggoth has become white and hills again. Nothing new, so i'm going to push down the upper layer into the lower liquid soon and see what happens, together with the fact that he might be going outside again seeing as the weather is nice again.

And one the most major problems of Shoggoth is being fixed right now - the SIZE.
Shoggoth is shrinking. Well actually, the liquid layer is shrinking.
Which is exactly what i wanted, took some pictures that show how the layer is shrinking:


Look at the 3/4, there is an "air hole" there. Or a tunnel. The layer below the roof is sinking down while rooftop layer is stuck to the sides and stays put.

Anyway so yeah, i'm almost 100% sure that my size problem is being fixed right now.

Day 116: Amber Lamps

I woke up late today with this terrible stinging pain in my stomach, chest, right arm and my head was all fuzzy for a moment. This is bad. Really bad. It got worse later that day, my stomach started stinging more and more until i puked.

There were little green bits everywhere.

I'd feed some to Shoggoth but i don't think i should go near my little child right now, instead i've gone to the doctor and he just... stared and wrote down what i said.

And i'm now in a lone waiting room in the nearby clinic, writing this on a laptop as we speak. (More like quarantine room am i right?)

More coming later.. as far as i know.

Day 115: Plans and other stuff.

Its the cooooooiiiiiinnnn! Kind of symbolic if you get what i mean.
I'm glad Shoggoth hasnt managed to eat or dissolve it or anything, and damn, look how shiny it is. "Shoggoth, cleaning your coins, today!"

Anyway, i think it's time to add a chicken bone soon, or another small animal bone. I mean, it managed to eat egg shell, slow but steady.
I'll have to ask around at a few butchers, but they probally won't miss the bones. And if they are unclean bones, well, that's what Carpet Beetle larva and Shoggoth are good for. And with an huge amount of luck there is a blood stem cell or two in the bone marrow.

It's growing warmer outside so I might try and take over the shed this week and make it my new "base of operations." And seeing as it's the end of the month, i should go shopping soon.
Seeing as whatever i buy is refunded by google soon anyway... I still want my Pincode letter though.

EDIT: Have permission to use both the garden and the shed now. Poor garden and shed...

Looking kind of funky there Shoggoth:

Tried cleaning the upper sides just a little bit, i suppose it worked out but Shoggoth is still growing way too big.




Stuff keeps floating in circles in this... stuff, really, drinking that would probally be lethal as fuck.

And don't you love how, well, plain it looks?



And in today's weather forecast: Snow, snow, snow!

The white is growing back. And if i would put Shoggoth outside, there is bound to be more white again like this.





Oh, and if the google stuff works out; Consider Grimer officially planned again.
I will use some of the liquid layer from Shoggoth as a base substance and then use the materials that i wouldn't dare putting in Shoggoth. That means Grimer is also in way more risk of being bleached to death, while Shoggoth is in no danger at all.

Ads stuff again.

It will take a while until i receive a letter from google including the pin that i need to start getting the actual payment on the 15th of a month.

EDIT: Did a little research and despite the counter being reset (it does that daily so that you get a daily income menu instead of total per month) they won't take the money for themselves, It's just being held back in a total. I can't access the earning/payment history tab though, but yesterday i already had enough for a big pot of creatine and some other stuff. Smile!

If this goes on like this and works out in the end, i might need to revive the Grimer idea.

I'm still a sell out though.

Day 114: Great succes.

Yesterday i threw in a nutrient cocktail, the usual bread, orange juice, sugar, a soft drink, ground vitamin pill and some spit. It covered the entire "roof" like a puddle at first, but Shoggoth has succesfully absorbed almost all of the liquid in half a day. But a brown puddle remains in the old 'Egg Crater'. It kind of looks like, well, never mind. The smell is starting to penetrate my masks again.

Oh and sorry about the quality of the pictures today, They were taken during daytime. The cocktail has had some nice side effects so far, the amount of black sludge has been reduced, most of the solid snow like mold is starting to soften up again, and well, Shoggoth just looked really hungry.

Just like his inhabitants.

A little bit worrying; He's sticking on the plastic sides. Though i don't think they would abandon food paradise so easily.




They started crawling after i took the first photo due to the flash, just to confirm that they don't like light.

We can be pretty sure that they are carpet beetles now to.
It's like my own little ecosystem in a jar.


Despite everything they are still nasty little buggers though. And we can confirm that they can survive... well, Shoggoth. Then again, so do I. Well, i don't eat Shoggoth that is. Bugs 1 - Thijs 0.

Oh and for the people who missed it, Yes, i'm using lame google ads now to finance things like creatine. (In other words; I'm a poor greedy bastard.) The last time i checked i got around 12 euro already. Which actually suprises me, seeing as i only started about 17-18 hours ago.

And finally;
The doctor called me. He was sick for all these weeks, and guess what?
Headache, breathing problems, tiredness, etc. Exactly the same symptons. Might have catched on from the liquid sample, which would be scary seeing as he uses at least ten times the protection that i do. Either that or there is another Flu that the media will start crying about for a few months and everyone will forget about it later.

I mean, what the hell happened to swine flu? All i hear now is Goat Fever. (i wish i was kidding). Oh wait, SARS, avian flu, MKZ... Any overhyped disease that i forgot?

I talked to him about the bugs, he didn't believe it until he saw the picture.
"There's no way something can survive in that substance down there."

We might have created mutated carpet beetles, gentlemen. Though i doubt it.

Then again, Shoggoth, Kweeksel, and the others did fortify my immune system to.

Day 113: Famine.

Good job Blogspot, my pictures won't upload properly. Had to resize and embed the pictures manually.

I just realised i haven't fed Shoggoth in days, so i'm making a nutrient-cocktail and getting some bread for it after the update. And what kind of update?

Mold art.







I love this kind of mold so much, when you flash it, it absorbs and reflects all the light. And it's growing from inside like hair. And it just looks so fuzzy. If it wasn't for the hazardous for health thing i would stroke it. Though they might be hard and breakable and i wouldn't want that.
And look at that weird eye on the lower part of the picture.

EDIT: Oh shit, the hairs are covered in spores.












If you look at the white, dry, hill like things on the upper part of these picture you will notice that it looks like it moved around. Which is quite creepy to my opinion. And i poked it with a pencil, and it's very, very hard. Remember those rubber bouncing balls? It's kind of like that. You could make rubber slugs out of this to shoot at protestors.












See that middle layer? It's like puke. But unlike puke, i'm actually really, really curious how this would look but the black/white rooftop doesn't show that. And you could say that that is the House of Mutated Carpet Beetles. I didn't see that the middle layer was growing so big.
Shoggoth alltogether is almost one litre now.

I'd inject food into the middle layer, but i don't want to crush the upper layer and even worse, make holes for the bugs. The bugs are also ruining my option of tipping shoggoth over a bit and just leaking out some of the liquid to reduce the size.

As has been suggested in comments and I myself was wondering it myself, i'm going to try to get adsense on the blog by google (haters gotta hate) despite how much i hate ads. Stuff like kreatine isn't cheap and well, I just have absolutely no income at all at the moment.

I am now officially a sell out whore. Well actually i will be trying, it won't be those annoying gif and flash "you have won 100000 dollar!" ones but google ones.

I now have to wait 1-2 days for google's approval.

Day 112: ZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzz.

Just checked Shoggoth and there was barely any change, boring. It only looks a bit more hairy/fuzzy than usual but that's it. I'm considering moving it outside again now the weather is better especially since the envirnoment change can cause some pleasing results for Shoggoth.

And the bugs wont come crawling out, since they are afraid of light, or at least they won't climb out into the house. And maybe some other insect decides to dump his eggs in to. As long as it's not maggots.

The smell is getting a bit worse to.
