Shoggoth is now in a better place. The nutrient filled park. Here it can grow without me destroying it's layer all the time. Weather is going to be shitty, but he'll handle it.
It's near some trees and a shrub, out of range from playing children but nearby critter wildlife and plants. i almost completely burrowed the pot but it's still open. I had to climb a fence (do you know how hard that is with Shoggoth in one hand?) to get to that spot but i didn't want random children or dogs finding it seeing what it was starting to to do with me.
Shitty part: My camera's SD card is suddenly blank. As in, empty. It's like Shoggoth erased everything and basicly saying "the world will never know." (Unless i visit it again, which i probally will one time) But for now, it's time to grow that shit natural.
Why is the place behind a fence? Ground water is absorbed at this location.
But anyway. 201 posts, a hundreds of comments, suggestions, facebook comments, questions, emails page visits and doctor visits it's time to say goodbye. What started out as a joke on an imageboard thread turned into this weird project that we've been doing for almost half a year. And this is the most cliché thing to say but i wouldn't have done it without you guys. Thanks alot for the support and interest!
~Hell Goo, Thijs, Pestilence, Etc. You know the drill. <3
Please check up on your baby from time to time and let us know how he's doing.
ReplyDeleteRemember... he's our baby too ;_;
Goodnight Sweet Prince...You shall be missed
ReplyDeleteT.T I shall remember ye' always.
@First anon. Don't worry, i didn't leave him out there to die.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Honestly. This experiment/project has been extremely interesting to follow. I found out of this around day 40 and have been checking it daily(unless something very important has kept me away from the computer). I wait eagerly for the future updates on what Shoggoth does to the park. Again, thank you for being percistent enough to grow Shoggoth for as long as you did. Not many people would have done it. Salute.
ReplyDeleteI will miss Shoggoth, Eden, Cthun and you, Thijs... <3
ReplyDeleteHow will we ever see info on Shoggoth again? Of course, people with failbook may know if you ever check up with interesting results, but us without wont. I am not an /x/phile, so i wouldnt know if you posted it on teh chans. Ill probably keep checking this blog out of habit.
ReplyDeleteAnywho, its time to say goodbye. I have a newfound appreciation of mold thanks to this blog, and I will be sure never to be prejudice against any black crap growing under my fridge.
ALL HAIL PESTILENCE, HORSEMAN OF THE APOCALYPSE! oh, and the mold
Final post + http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-EQ6eHeBrhM
ReplyDeleteI will never forget Shoggoth.
Neither will I. It's been one hell of a dirty, moldy ride.
ReplyDeleteFinales always make me swell up.
ReplyDeleteI've been following this since early days, and Shoggoth has become like a brother for me since then. No matter how bad my day was, I could always come here and smile as Shoggoth devoured another helpless insect or random slab of fruit.
Be sure to tell us of anything that happens to him out in the wilderness. I need to know that he's safe.
Oh, and thank you for starting this in the first place. It's sure been an entertaining 5 months!
Thanks for a great experiment!
ReplyDeleteI've followed you since day one, in fact, I was the first /x/phile to say "do it faggot" when you were reminiscing your first experiment and contemplating restarting it. I couldn't have been more amazed or grateful when I've seen that you did. I'm more emotional then I thought I'd be, seeing it all end.
ReplyDeleteHopefully, Shoggoth will menage, but won't cause enough harm to get you into trouble.
Goodnight Sweet Prince... ;__;
Following since day 1, bro. What a trip, what a trip.

ReplyDeleteI'll keep checking the blog occasionally, you never know what might happen... Thanks for everything Thijs!
I'm crying.
ReplyDeleteSeriously.
So long, you will be missed
ReplyDeleteThis has been a lot of fun but as for anything else, the end is inevitable. It was a crazy roller-coaster ride full of dirty mold, killer-ass insects, fucked-up experiments and other nasty shit. Goed gedaan, Thijs!
ReplyDeleteShoggoth, nevah forget!
Gee, this has been an awesome journey, and I have to say, I've sure enjoyed it. I sincerely hope you start a new project soon on this blog, (It doesn't have to even be about mold!), I mean just whatever long-term experiment strikes your mind. Hopefully you will, but if you don't. . .
ReplyDeleteGood Night Sweet Prince; 2009-2010
Rest well shoggoth.
ReplyDeleteMay he kill wildlife in peace.
ReplyDeleteThis was truly an interesting and fantastic blog. Good on you, Thijs. Shoggoth will be missed, but I see great things in the future for him! (Like polluting your whole country!) :D <3
ReplyDeleteGood to know that shoggoth still lives on in some form or fashion. I am sad to see him go, having watched him grow up. It's kind of like losing a friend. I commend you for all of your work pestilence. Good luck man. Good luck.
ReplyDeleteCould you look up the park on Google maps and give us(/me) the exact location... :D?

ReplyDeleteSomewhere, beyond the treeeees, somewhere, waiting for me.
http://tinyurl.com/SHOGGOTH
ReplyDeleteThe Google Maps area. It looks nice you lucky cunt, and im stuck in scum central.
Been here since day 24. I saw your first few posts on /x/ and i've been hooked since. It has definitely been one hell of a ride.
ReplyDeleteBeen here for a while, to see this over.
ReplyDeleteGoodnight, sweet prince.
This is a great betrayal.
ReplyDeleteYou can't give up now. You are one with the decay. It's only a matter of time until you start anew. And this time you will use the smoke detector.
ReplyDeleteThijs, when are you next gonna check on Shoggoth?
ReplyDeleteDid yesterday. It was climbing onto some plants.
ReplyDeleteEden is full of white maggots that are surviving the chemicals, so its going to end in a funeral pyre.
A MASTER IS OUT
ReplyDeleteSend Eden on a funeral pyre on a boat (I forget what that's called).
ReplyDeleteDown a watershed river.
In the windiest part of your country.
^ On fire

Mind if I go check this location out and search for it?
Always. i just checked it when walking my dogs, it turned all black and is eating some leaves and stuff, its really hard to see.
ReplyDelete<3 N'aww. Shoggoth.
ReplyDeleteAw I'm going to miss reading this every day and you Thijs <3
ReplyDeleteShoggoth will live on in our hearts....
ReplyDeleteAnd in Thijs' lungs.
Isn't anyone curious what the doctor had to say?
ReplyDeleteShit, I'm really curious.
Is Thijs even still alive?
sooo update?
ReplyDeleteDon't let this dieeeeee~~~!
ReplyDeleteThijs :(
ReplyDeleteI'm gonna miss you man... And I'm gonna miss Shoggoth. This blog was the staple of my nightly entertainment. You've done me a service young man, I won't forget it!

ReplyDeleteHere's an update then: Nature + Mold = Digestion. Shoggoth is mostly eaten away and even that coin is away now.
ReplyDeleteNot much to say. I kept forgetting that i still had Eden full of maggots, but when i checked it yesterday ALL of the fungi AND chemicals inside were gone except some minor traces, and the maggot corpses were almost fully digested to.
Pictures now
ReplyDeleteI don't understand then. What's happening to it? Shoggoth is getting eaten away? What does that mean, exactly? It's just diminishing in size, or something?
ReplyDeleteOnly a month since this died? It seems so long.

ReplyDeleteIt shrinked, became black, shrinked some more.
ReplyDeleteIt is now the most stinking piece of soil ever.
Basicly it doesn't only EAT things fast, it also gets eaten fast. Thats the wonder of fungi i guess.
Even Shoggoth agrees: it's better to burn out than fade away.
ReplyDeleteThat almost makes me sad :(
ReplyDeleteBump cause y not
ReplyDeleteI still check this.
ReplyDelete:(
This SHALL NOT DIE!
ReplyDeleteI AGREE
ReplyDeleteI miss Shoggoth
ReplyDeleteThijs, give us an update man.
ReplyDeleteTell us what the abandoned shoggoth looks like.
what the above anon said
ReplyDeleteplease ;_;
I only found this blog yesterday, but I read it from start to finish. It was an interesting ride. RIP Shoggoth
ReplyDeleteMan, It's depressing seeing this page again, I really do miss good ol' Shoggie, it was an amazing, fun ride, I'd love to see another fucked up experiment you do, but it'll never replace Shoggoth.
ReplyDeleteWay to abandon the blog Thijs.
ReplyDeleteYo you're fucking nasty yo
