So most likely the inhibitants of Shoggoth are Carpet Beetles.
I can confirm a few things about that, and the most important thing for me is that they hide from light. Or, they are afraid of the light. So they are hiding underground most of the time that is why we didnt see them yet. And the best part about this is that they wont come crawling out.
I saw one of them again while checking, he submerged before i could grab my camera though, thanks to the light i geuss.
And these little critters are born inside rotting death, so that explains how they can survive Shoggoth i geuss.
And another good thing about carpet beetle larva is that they take 8 to 12 months to grow into a mature form. After which they die in a period of 6 weeks. Then again, these larvae are surrounded with food and not much competitors, so they might mature faster.
And there is a possibility of mutation, like some of you said.
However,
Carpet beetle larva are mostly hairy. These little babies are not hairy.
But there are around 700 known species of carpet beetle larva so that doesn't really say much.
I should email some kind of expert.

Out of interest, how big are the mature forms? As it would be pretty nasty having some huge fucker inside shoggoth, emerging at night and watching you sleep.
ReplyDeleteThere are not a lot of mold jars in the world, so there are not a lot of "mold jar carpet beetle". It's normal you don't find a lot of them on the interwebs.
ReplyDeleteDon't kill Shoggoth ! Those insects are not a danger ! If anything, they will help Shoggoth.
Maybe you find a new drugs to cure something xD. carpet beetle are my new Favorite insect now. Shoggoth 4 ever!!!!
ReplyDeletefor sure
ReplyDeleteMature carpet beetles are cute, harmless things that like the light and mostly just eat pollen. I'm not sure if they can survive in Shoggoth, although they might last long enough to mate.
ReplyDeleteOk I thought they were north american only but they spread worldwide?
ReplyDeleteIf you want to kill it with fire, I have a few kilos of thermite left, molten iron should do the trick at 2700+ degrees, and I don't live too far away, but honestly I think you should keep it alive in the name of science.
keep it alive! FOR SCIENCE
ReplyDeletehell the life may die off anyway on its own, otherwise you have mutated bug minions to destroy your enemies with
Hey, found out about it today, weird as hell, but awesome. Though I'm surprised all your friends didn't break contact with you over it.
ReplyDeleteJust thinking, if you ever want to ... let Shoggoth go ... dont dump him in a river like kweeksel, I'd say burn him. You might get quite a fire out of it considering everything's decomposing in there (not sure about it though), and you'll stop some kind of mass apocalypse happening when he feeds off the environment and becomes a zombie lifeform. you get the idea.
im the above poster ^ i rushed into that a bit, ignore it :P
ReplyDeleteUhhh i tried to get some information about that larva but i thought i would start to puke if i have to look at it anylonger. Shoggoth is, like for you, no problem to me but larva and maggots really disgust me too.
ReplyDeleteDo you guys think heating, frezzing or the use of pesticides would kill Shoggoth? If not you should get rid of that bastards as soon as possilbe.
Hey, what happened to your previous blog-post? The one with the video? Can you at least give us a link?
ReplyDeletePosted it. It dissapeared as people ignored it for the purpose it was.
Thank you kindly, mister mold!
