Day 75: The Pink.

Thanks to an anon, we now know that the pink is the bacteria Serratia Marcescens.

It manifests itself as a pink discolouration or plaque in or on larvae, pupae, or the usually starch and sugar-based food (especially when improperly prepared).

Ok, sugar-based food, improperly prepared, larvae. That explains where it comes from. Now about this bacteria;

Since 1950, S. marcescens has steadily increased as a cause of human infection, with many strains resistant to multiple antibiotics.

Oh, Crap. And cool actually, resistant to multiple antibiotics. This is way more awsome than Kweeksel back in the day.

S. marcescens can cause infection in several sites, including the urinary tract, respiratory tract, wounds, and the eye, where it may cause conjunctivitis, keratitis, endophthalmitis, and tear duct infections. It is also a rare cause of endocarditis and osteomyelitis (particularly in people who use intravenous drugs recreationally), pneumonia, and meningitis.

This just keeps getting better and better doesn't it? Oh fuck, wounds.

It has also been used as a simulant in biological warfare tests by the United States Military. On September 26 and 27, 1950, the United States Navy conducted a secret experiment named "Operation Sea-Spray" in which some S. marcescens was released by bursting balloons of it over urban areas of the San Francisco Bay Area in California. Although the Navy later claimed the bacteria were harmless, beginning on September 29 eleven patients at a local hospital developed very rare, serious urinary tract infections and one of these individuals, Edward J. Nevin, died. Cases of pneumonia in San Francisco also increased after S. marcescens was released.

BINGO! To the anon who found this out, thank you so much! And thanks wikipedia.

Brb buying goggles.

Day 74: Apple and pink.

Hmmmm... Looks good doesn't it? Yum... I'm getting hungry.
I've been trying to find out what's causing the pink, it might be tomato juice or a chemical, I don't really know. And that white circle? Either one of those pills that i threw in earlier or something entirely different. I have no idea.

Been looking up biohazard suits for shits and giggles to, I didn't know those things are so damn cheap? Considering ordering one sometime.

The apples;

Holy bad quality picture batman!

Both apples are about equally brown,
But the one on shoggoth is showing little mold growth and the skin is softer.
And it looks much more dry, yet some of the brown parts are turning... well... Almost liquid, just like the substance that shoggoth is made out of.

The airborne spreading might be worse than i thought. And IF that is really true, well, not only do i fear for my health as a human being, it could also mean that Shoggoth isn't a bunch of random fungi working together, but rather being one "larger being."

This is probally the closest i'll ever get to being a father.

Day 73: For my own sake;

Sorry i'm not going near Shoggoth tonight, i have enough breathing problems for now. Literally.
Luckily, it's probally not from inhaling spores/shoggoth. Rather some other boring virus, or the eating accident.

Though if it was from the accidental eating, my stomach would probally be killing me right now.

Sorry again, but i really don't want to get near that pot tonight.

I need to get a new mask.

Day 72: Another test.

It's time to cook the shit out of shoggoth.
Well actually, the temperature won't go higher than 53.5 degrees celcius. (128 Fahrenheit). To make sure that i dont damage any bacteria or mold.
And plastic doesnt conduct much heat either, so the real temperature is probally lower down there.

Holy shit is that.. Pink? Fabolous!

Threw in paracentemol, uncooked egg-white, the usual sugar in a warmed up cup. And some tiny chocolate sprinkles.

Day 71: Nothing so far

Yep. Both apples are showing the same amounts of brown on the "open tissue". (Have a second comparison apple, thanks the egg guy for the tip.) tipped over the apple on shoggoth so that it covers most of the opening in hope for more results.

I'm not going to look into shoggoth for a little while due to still having headache and breathing problems. Want to hear something silly? i've always had bad lungs and now im growing airborne zombified spores. Yep...

So yes, i don't really have much to write. Considers this the best time to yell at me in the comments.

EDIT: getting a new ISP the 25th, so i'll probally be back on /x/ and /v/ by then.

Day 70: Experiment

Meet the elofs experiment. (credits to elofs, yes.) woops i typed in the wrong name.

(note; i moved the apple closer to the opening now.)

We're going to check if Shoggoth has any effect on the area around it. I will keep the apple there for a couple of days so that i have an excuse to stay away from shoggoth for a little while due to my own health.

People asked if i wanted to hang fruit on a string, but i don't want to completely open up Shoggoth on top, so sorry, this will have to do for now. Unless i can hang it on the instruction manual covering Shoggoth.

I'm going to cover the sides of the cupboard with plastic soon to reduce the chance of mold growth. There is one thing though... In a week there will be a major cleanup in my house, including where Shoggoth is. I might need to hide it in the garden shed, even though it's freezing outside.

Which is risky, because i raised shoggoth at both room temperature and with a heating lamp for a few days.

Day 69: Uggggh.

The update is very, very, late. I know.
It seems that i passed out a few hours ago, So, Nope, i'm not dead. yet.
Just wanted to let you know that i haven't suddenly died/been eaten... At 2:13 AM.

Yep, my personal health? Going down. Which isn't really a suprise. Headache is back and kicking to. The watermelon pieces from yesterday are gone. The rest is very slowly sinking to the bottom.

Late night; Warmed up some delicious milk because i need to get to sleep again and shared it with shoggoth. I think the upper layer is becoming mostly green, again, i don't know i can barely see anything.
earlier this day; I "borrowed" some fish food (larva) and added them (again). And some regular fish food and algae from the aquarium. Injected air into the lower layer with a syringe as a little experiment.

Alright, its way too late now. I need to sleep..

Oh christ it's valentines day, this is getting worse and worse with the minute.
