Day 124: Living in the sunlight,

I got bored of Shoggoth's white upper layer, so i decided it was time for some change. Again.
I pushed down the upper layer once more, removed some spare liquid, added some more sugar, a little piece of dog shit, some tiny dead leaves and most importantly;

Total envirnoment change. The temperature will be different, Shoggoth will now have to deal with a day-night cycle, the air will be fresh, Bugs can climb in, the air will be more humid and what i think is one of the more important things; There will be daylight.

And yes, the new "lid" is put that way on purpose. No water will come in, but there will be access to air and bugs.
So it's now outside, chilling with his liquid counterpart, speaking of which, I poured some more at the strawberry plants but no effect so far. Which isn't a suprise because i think that that liquid is actually Shoggoth's weakest part.

I'm quite pleased with how good that setup outside works.

The sad news is, when i pushed down the upper layer again only liquid came out of the holes, so Shoggoth is probally eating drowned Shoggie corpses right now. But there is room for new bugs now. And Shoggoth might try to recover back to the white/gray upper layer, and that would be even more standard. If it becomes the same white/gray again, i will have to throw in some new stuff and completely ruin the upper layer.

My stomach was acting up all weird again, but it's over now. Well, time for pizza.

Day 123: Indestructable.

Google letter arrived, rejoice.

Well, so much for "destroying" the upper layer two days ago.
And sigh, it's almost the same white again. So predictable. So boring. Though the food that i added two days ago seems to be gone now, so i think Shoggoth has become a faster eater thanks to removing most of the liquid.
I am still unaware of the fate of the Shoggies though, so i might need to lure them out with other food sooner or later. It has been a while since the last feeding time anyway.

So i went into the garden to see how the liquid half of Shoggoth was doing, and well, nothing really happened except that there were two additional insect corpses floating around on it, and that the smell had become worse.
I grabbed my empty syringe, got some of the liquid and injected it into the soil directly below some strawberry plants.
Let's see if this will do anything to said strawberry plants.

And i think i saw some bees going for the cup of liquid. Free bee corpses?

Day 122: Four months.

It has been four long months of Shoggoth.
which made me realise how much work i still have to do, shit.

In these 4 months we have almost succesfully recreated Kweeksel, except that Shoggoth eats thing's way slower than Kweeksel. But Kweeksel didn't have bugs with spikes on their backs and didn't fuck up a spider corpse so much, but that's probally because Kweeksel was way more chemicly enhanced than Shoggoth is. Bugs with spikes on their back > Fast eating.

The cup of liquid goodness is now outside, and i did a little test. In Kweeksel i could throw in spiders and they'd stop moving after a few seconds, so i did the same but now with the cup of only the liquid.
At first he tried to climb out, but i blew him back in, and he fell into the liquid. It then was like a bad horror movie.
The spider panicked and started moving his legs like he had some sort of epleptic attack, but he was stuck in place and slowly sinking. After a short while he stopped sinking and his legs started moving slower, and poof, it stopped moving. 17 seconds of pure sticky torture and death, and then the spider completely sank to the bottom, like it was being dragged into the waters.

I smiled. This was just the liquid layer alone, which, all in all, doesn't even smell that strong or bad, it smells a little weak even. So i put it outside, and added tiny droplets of that golden chemical stuff that i added to the complete Shoggoth yesterday.

The 14 characteristics of a serial killer...
[x] 14. They are involved with sadistic activity or tormenting small creatures.

Just chillin' in the garden man.

Speaking of the golden chemical stuff, It works. Very much.
Shoggoth has almost entirely recovered from all the damage of yesterday in a single day. Kweeksel might have been the fastest eater, But Shoggoth seems to be strongest of the two;

Yeah well fuck your shit Thijs, you can't damage my sweet upper layer.

It's a shame that it's already turning white and grayish again though, i was hoping for some new colors. Or pink again, shit would be fabolous. But either that golden stuff helped regrow it so fast or it was just Shoggoth himself. Either way, i injected a little more. If i add it on a daily basis i'll have enough for 2-3 days i think.

I need to clean the sides again though, or else it might start growing upwards on the sides, trying to climb out... Oh, too late. Well, i've got some cleaning work to do then.

And back to the liquid cup of goodness; I asked for a few suggestions on what to do with the liquid, and most people told me to:
1. Use it as a base for Grimer.
2. Leave it standing somewhere for a while and see what happens.
3. Feed it to babies/cats.

Sadly i won't feed it to something larger than my thumb, so the first two are going to happen. As you just read it's resting outside now in the fresh air, to see what happens. And some of it will become a base for in Grimer, kinda making Shoggoth and Grimer blood brothers. The rest will probally end up in the soil by some plants to see if the plants die, seeing as i basicly have permission to kill the entire garden with mold mutants if i must.

So well, i'm actually rather proud to have gone so far. And alot of you people are trying the same right now to, which makes it even more fun to do.

Thanks for the support guys.

Wait a minute what happened to the Shoggies.

Day 121: Mold Surgeon!

edit;Oh, and if the layout looks retarded on your screen, please comment about it.

Did you come here for a boring wall of text? Fuck no! Too bad!
I was going to save this for tomorrow's 4th month aniversery but;
IT'S PICTURE TIME.

Nothing special so far i suppose, except that i didn't see the little Shoggie until i looked at the picture.

Charlie's mutating corpse has shrinked.

Sorry little Shoggie. I am a terrible father.

I poured most of the liquid into this poor defenseless cup.

I still have this cup, though i filtered some of the food out. I have no idea what to do with the liquid in this cup.

Well that at least fixed the size problem and growing out of proportion, And removed ALOT of the liquid. In this picture it looks less solid than it actually is now though.

There is the possibility that the Shoggies are now drowning an agonizing death.

Well i guess the Shoggies could climb up here or something, and it looks pretty decent. Now to just let the growing progress start all over again.

(Are those... Seeds?)

Now just to add THIS. Don't look at my fingernails. This should help some new growth, not going to reveal what's in there though. Yet.

Welp.

And...

Oh jesus christ the entire room smells like... the goddamn sewer combined with this very chemical smell. I'm just going to leave open the windows and stay out of here for the coming two hours now. Hurray for hazardous health risk taking!

Have enough for a decent hazard suit and a less decent gas mask (even though the suit comes with one) and the ingredients that i wanted now. Still no letter, due to easter delays.

Alright, now i need to get out of here.

Day 120: Short.

I've been doing some shopping and searching for an old smoke detector, one with a radioactive isotope in it called Americum (Am 241 if i'm right.) But almost everyone of them were optic ones. Bunch of pussies.

I'm going to let Shoggoth rest for the day, seeing as he probally didn't change a bit either. Should i push down (and break) the upper layer down again?
It might drown the Shoggies though. And no living creature deserves a death like that... wait, actually, never mind. But it might happen.
I want Shoggoth's topside to change though, and i want to reduce the amount of liquid, because right now it's going to be kweeksel all over again.

Speaking of which i still need that chicken bone. Now where do i get 3 birds to eat my pot...

So yeah a bit of a short update, got a dinner waiting up. Goodnight!

EDIT: Google ads sent me a smoke detector ad, i guess that will do.

Day 119: Minor extra post

Just found out something thanks to making a thread on /sci/ (Enlarge the pictures)

First one is very, very similar don't you think? The second one isn't that much similar but it still looks a bit alike. And it's editted like the circle goes on from shoggoth's top to kweeksel, just noticed that.

Day 119: Fabolouuuuus

Not much change today on top so i didn't take pictures of that. Shoggoth changes all the time, but the topside is getting a bit stuck on the same style now. I might need to do something drastic like pushing down the upper layer again, adding some grounded sugar and stuff again to see if it grows back differently.

I'm still keeping Shoggoth inside due to the temperature and because it saves effort.

And so...

Is it just me or is the home of the Shoggies becoming orangeish... or even... pink?
Wait a minute, pink. Could that pink bacteria be still alive? It was supposed to be a major resistant kind of bacteria that could survive all kind of crap but it kind of dissapeared when i moved Shoggoth outside back then. Let's hope for the best.

The bad part about my new camera is that it runs on batteries, because they just ran out. Got some rechargable ones though (i forgot batteries even existed, christ.)

I'm still stunned by that liquid layer. It might be poisonous enough to kill my entire household, or just be a mixture of liquids. But what we know from the time that i took it to be analyzed, it contains more bacteria than a keyboard can dream of achieving of having.

Happy zombie jesus day folks. I'll put in a little chocolate egg just because. :3
