Day 86: Immediate Effect

It looks like shoggoth is very sensitive to temperature.
You might want to stock up on flamethrowers.

Shoggoth has been outside of room temperature (around 5 degrees celcius today on average) And it's now 2 degrees celcius. Which is close to freezing. Though i have no idea what the temperature inside the actual shed is.

I'm pretty sure some fungi died, but it has been replaced by another kind of fungi already. Shoggoth is now almost completely white and pink on the top layer, and the middle layer seems to be becoming harder as it moves slower than usual when turning shoggoth.
It also looked like shoggoth was bigger than usual.

Brown weak spots are starting to appear on random visible parts of the apple now to, so it's being eaten from inside.

EDIT: A friend calls me "Pestilence, horseman of the apocalypse" now. Yep. Can you imagine?

  4. Fuck knows
All we know is that only the most cold resistant shit will be left in the jar at the moment, so now, aswell as being mildly anti-biotic resistant due to your efforts, we can make him immune to weather changed.
From Alaska to the Sahara, nowhere is safe from Shoggoth, destroyer of species!

  5. You need to get business cards that say that. On a more serious note, may I suggest splitting Shoggoth into two jars and putting one under a heat lamp? It would be interesting short term to see if the old mold returns and long term to see the effects.

  6. Theres no power sockets in the shed as far im aware, so no heat lamps now. And i dont know if splitting would be the right idea now.

  7. By putting it into cold temperatures, you are placing a selection pressure on Shoggoth that will end up promoting the growth of psychrophiles: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychrophile

In short, you will seen a 'change in microbe population' soon and the result will be a whole bunch of microbes that can deal with cold temperatures.

If you feel like speeding up the process, you could try getting a little soil and add it to the jar.

I'm really curious what would happen
    possibly some kind of mutations?

you should totally try it, can't hurt and might be really cool:)
